What is Whisper One?

Whisper One is a voice-dictation app for Mac. Use your voice to draft messages, emails, notes, and prompts in supported text fields.

Press Fn to speak

Focus a supported text field and press Fn to begin recording. Press Fn again to finish. Whisper One transcribes the recording and inserts the result into the focused field.

Secure text fields and some editors may block insertion. You can copy the result from local History when needed. Review the text before sending it.

Choose whether to polish

Smart polishing is optional and off by default. Turn it on in Settings when you want help refining wording and formatting. Review the result to make sure it preserves your meaning.

Keep track of your writing

Completed dictations appear in local History, where you can review, copy, delete, or insert them again. Your website account and Mac app show the same plan and remaining allowance.

Local history describes where completed text is kept. Transcription uses cloud services; it does not mean all processing takes place on your Mac.

Check your Mac and language

Whisper One targets Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Check the download page for the current verified release. Windows and mobile versions are not available.

Whisper One supports Chinese, English, German, Portuguese, French and Hindi. Automatic detection is the default. For French or Hindi, choose the language in Settings. See the language guide and changelog.
